Karen Kay (Singleton) Frazier Penix August 11, 2024
SULPHUR SPRINGS - Karen Kay (Singleton) Frazier Penix of Sulphur Springs, known as "KK" to those who knew her well, 73, passed away Sunday evening August 11th 2024 after a very brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Wm. Tom Singleton and Dorothy Marie (Winning) Singleton, who preceded her in death.
Karen attended East Tennessee State and graduated with the Christine B Tribbe award from her LPN class. She worked at Holston Valley Hospital and many years at Holston Medical Group before retiring to become a Walmart associate. She was an excellent seamstress, flower arranger and cook. She was a long-time member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Karen always wore a sweet smile, many commented on.
Karen is survived by her husband, Keith Penix, Sulphur Springs, her sons Jim Frazier and wife Amanda (Gray) and Kevin Frazier (Limestone). Also, a sister Patti Salyerds Wright and husband Bill (Gray) and a brother Tom Singleton Jr. and wife Anne (Monroe, WA) a granddaughter Ali Frazier and several nephews & cousins.
A service, officiated by Pastor Jon Reed, was held on Thursday August the 15th at East Lawn Funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital St. Jude’s Hospital or Washington County Animal Shelter.
Karen was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
