Karen Ann Hawkins

February 16, 2025

SAGINAW, TX - Karen Ann Hawkins, 57, of Saginaw, Texas passed away peacefully at home Sunday, February 16, 2025 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was a native of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Eugene Hartzell Swartz and Betty Jane Saylor Swartz. Karen was a loving wife, devoted mother and fierce friend. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Karen enjoyed trips to the beach and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Swartz Hale; maternal grandparents, Burke and Myrtle Saylor; paternal grandparents, Don and Maude Swartz.

Survivors include her loving husband, Chris Hawkins; two daughters, Brianna Hawkins and Cierra Hawkins; brother, Gary Swartz and wife, Valerie; a sister, Trish Laws and husband, Chet; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Karen will be conducted at 12:30 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Jim Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour. Graveside committal service will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
