JOHNSON CITY - Kaleb Ryan Lane, 22, of Johnson City passed away in a tragic accident while working on an automobile on Thursday, July 20, 2023 in Sullivan County. Kaleb is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ira and Beulah Lane.
He was a 2019 graduate of Happy Valley High School. Kaleb lived every day to the fullest, never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He loved to cut wood, trim trees and piddle in the backyard. KWOP's friendly personality and smile will remain in our hearts forever. He was a collector of old cars and SUVs, but his favorite ride was his Suzuki Samurai. You could hear him arriving as he turned off the Milligan Highway on two wheels. He loved Grammy's homemade sandwiches at midnight and her "Cracker Barrel-style" breakfast fixed with lots of love at any time of the day or night. He kept Papaw running from the garage to the basement gathering tools even when Kaleb thought 10PM was the best time to be a backyard mechanic. Deep down - Papaw didn't mind because he would do anything for Kaleb. Who parks their car crossways in the driveway? Who drives through Papaw's yard to park in the trimmed green grass near the back door and who the heck pulls a vehicle up a steep hill just to see if they can? The one and only "FEARLESS" Kaleb Lane! He always left a trail wherever he went!
Those left to cherish Kaleb's adventurous spirit include his father, Tony Lane; mother, Aimee Williams (Brandon Odle); special sisters, Laiken Lane and Emilee Williams; maternal grandparents, Bill and Cindy Gouge; aunt, Leisa (Travis) Harvey; special cousin Lauren Harvey; aunt, Linda Faye (Glen) Sanders and Katie Kendrick.
The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm with Mr. Drew Leonard, Minister officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Monday, July 31, 2023. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends.
