Joyce Lambert Loudermilk

Born in Lenoir, North Carolina, October 22, 1930 to James William Lambert and Sarah Louise (Sturgill) Lambert.

Predeceased by her parents and her brother James Calvin Lambert

She is survived by her husband of 75 years Delbert Wesley Loudermilk. They met while both were attending Steed College in Elizabethton. They were married at First Christian Church on September 11, 1950 and were active in the church. For many years Joyce was in charge of the church nursery and had a special way with infants. She and Delbert were active in working with the church college age students in the 1970s.

Joyce spent much of her working career as a bookkeeper for the Elizabethton School system.

She is also survived by her two sons, Michael Lee Loudermilk (Johnson City, TN) and Lynn Edward Loudermilk (Gretchen) (St. Louis, MO)

Joyce had three Grandchildren, Derek Loudermilk (Heidi), Sara Loudermilk Propst (Laban), and Justin Loudermilk and five great-Grandchildren (Rilyn Propst, Wesley Propst, Axel Loudermilk, Chloe Loudermilk and Franklin Loudermilk). Joyce will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at First Christian Church of Elizabethton with Mr. Michael Klaus officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Sunday.

The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
