Joseph C Miller, age 91, of Mondovi, WI, passed away Saturday, January 11, surrounded by love. Joe was born on February 26, 1933 to Albert and Hazel (O'Riley) Miller in Maryville, MO.
Joe served our country during the Korean War in the Navy as a Seabee and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. Joe worked as an underground contractor in the Chicago area until retiring and moving to Mondovi in 1976. Joe loved racing canoes with friends and family. Many weekends were spent traveling to different races.
Joe's favorite place to be was "up north" (Herbster, WI). He enjoyed fishing and walking on the beach with his grandkids and great-grandkids. Joe had many great adventures in his life and always acknowledged what a wonderful life he had lived. He will be deeply missed.
Joe is survived by two children, Joe Miller Jr and Jeri (Marvin) Largent; four grandchildren, Jessi, Patti (Rickey) West, Dan Largent and Jon (Kim) Largent; six great-grandchildren Jake, Cody(Sydney), Kate (Jake) and Bella West and Olivia and Charlotte Largent. He is also survived by Hazel, someone very special to him.
A celebration of life will held Sunday, February 23 from 1-3 p.m. at Buzz's Bar and Grill in Mondovi.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared at cremationsociety-wi.com.
