Johnny Brown Obituary

CHUCKEY - Johnny Mac Brown, age 69, of Chuckey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home in the South Central Community. He was born May 24, 1954 to the late Guy and Stella (Painter) Brown. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Brown and mother-in-law, Mary Franklin.

Johnny was a faithful member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church where he was deacon and a former Sunday School teacher. He retired from Superior Metal Products after 43 years as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed farming, tending to his garden, hunting, fishing and attending anything his grandkids were involved in. Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved the Lord and was loved and admired by all he knew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Brown; his daughter, Jennifer Douglas and husband Todd; his son, Nathan Brown and wife Rebecca; grandchildren: Bryson Foulks, Kaitlyn Foulks, Brady Ramsey, Makenna Brown; sister, Joynel Moses (Kernie); brothers, Billy, Henry, Tommy and Guy Lee Brown; Father-in-law, Fred Franklin; Brother-in-law, Tony Franklin; Sister-in-law, Shelby Childers; special Uncle and Aunt, Clay and Susie Brown who were like second parents to him; special friends: Jeff and Sharon Muncy. Johnny was a family man and loved all his nieces and nephews and was known as a second dad and papaw to many.

We would like to say a special thank you to the staff of 2200 and 6400 at Johnson City Medical Center, Dr. Devapiran Jaishankar, Dr. Tyler Bailey, Dr. Lincoln Olsen and Dr. Ahmed Khan.

The family will receive friends at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church from 2 – 4 and 5 – 7 pm on Saturday, September 9th with funeral to follow at 7 p.m. Bryson Foulks, Rev. John Buchanan, and the Rev. Brian Brown will officiate.

Graveside service will be Sunday, September 10th at 2 pm in Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Brandon Broyles and the Rev. Ralph Dingus officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Active pallbearers will be Ryan Adams, James Buchanan, Jeff Brobeck, Logan Clark, Tony Greer, and Steve Painter.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacon Board of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, Tony Barber, Jeff Bowman, Darian Collins, Danny Mathes, Scott Maxwell, Wally Melton, and employees of Superior Metal Products.
