John David Sneyd

John David Sneyd, age 53, of Unicoi, Tennessee, succumbed to a heart attack on July 15, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. John was a 1989 graduate of Science Hill High School. An avid outdoorsman, he hunted with this father during his youth and he loved to go camping. Although he had a brief stint as an emergency medical technician, he spent most of his working life in the manufacturing industry. A longtime member of the Limestone Cove First United Methodist Church, he was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his grandparents, Edith and Vernon Sneyd, Sr. and Marjorie and John Marcus, John David was predeceased by his younger brother, Anthony Todd Sneyd, two aunts, Christine Tipton, and Cindy Evans, and an uncle, Vernon Sneyd, Jr. Survivors include his father, William David Sneyd and stepmother, Brenda Sneyd, of Johnson City, mother, Carol Ann Sneyd of Daytona Beach, Florida, stepbrother, Bryan Edmisten, and stepsister, Erica Edmisten, uncles, Bobby Sneyd (Vivian), Ricky Sneyd (Sandy), and Richard Marcus (Libby L.), two aunts, Martha Rice (Wayne), and his his favorite, Lauri Ann Vance Garland (Bill), and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be conducted by the Reverend Estel Williams at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Limestone Cove First United Methodist Church in Unicoi, Tennessee, with visitation from 1:00 p.m, until 3:00 p.m.

A private committal and interment will be at the Bell Cemetery in Unicoi, Tennessee, at a later date.
