JONESBOROUGH - Mrs. Joann Ford, age 82, of Jonesborough, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2025.
Joann was born in Jonesborough, TN, to the late Samuel Earl and Eva Walker Light.
She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Ed Cleek, and her sister, Sandra Ford, brothers-in-law, Carl Ford and John Jennings, Stepdaughter, Barbara Cleek.
She was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and ETSU, a retired school teacher Of Washington County, enjoyed sewing, singing at Nursing Homes, and decorating her church.
Survivors include Children Brian Ford (Dawn), David Ford (Donna), Susan Fields (Kenny), stepdaughter Mona Shelton (Ronnie)
Grandchildren: Hunter Ford (Emily), Dalton Ford, Austin Ford (Kaitlin), Hannah Fields, Ben Fields (Alexa)
Great Grand Child: Bodie Fields
Siblings: Katherine Jennings, Steve Light (Debbie)
Special Friends: Bobbie Carder, Joan Roller, Nancy Tester, Becky Cross, Lonnie Horne
Funeral Service for Joann will be Monday, December 1, 2025 7:00 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Methodist Church, with Scott Brady officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service.
Grave side service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025 11 a.m. at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
Pallbears will be Hunter Ford, Dalton Ford, Austin Ford, Ben Fields, Rodney Good, Dana Good, and Jason Light. Horary Pallbears: Greg Horne, and Bodie Fields "Nuggs".

Joann was a great mentor friend

JoAnn was my home economics teacher at Davey Crockett in the early 80's. She was such an awesome person. She seen something in me that I didn't see in myself. She helped me get a job at ETSU food service way back then and thanks to her I am still there and have been a manager there now for several years. I will never forget her. RIP JoAnn until we meet again.
