Jeffrey Barnett Obituary

LIMESTONE - Jeffrey D. Barnett, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of the Limestone, Tennessee, community, passed away on the 14th of February 2024, at the age of 61. Born on October 8, 1962, in Washington County, Tennessee, Jeffrey lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering faith.

Growing up in Boones Creek, Jeffrey was affectionately known for his endearing personality and sincere kindness towards others. He was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School, Class of 1980, and carried his hometown pride throughout his life. For the past 30 years, Jeffrey called Limestone his home, where he created a legacy defined by his devotion to family and friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his dear family members: his father, Sidney "Howard" Barnett; mother, Anna Mae Cash Barnett; brother, Larry Howard Barnett; sister-in-law, Victoria Barnett; nephew, Larry Barnett, Jr., and nephew, Brandon Barnett. Though he felt their absence deeply, he never lost the ability to find purpose in every day.

Surviving Jeffrey are his loving daughters, Ashley Barnett and Candace Barnett. His spirit will live on through the lives of his treasured granddaughters, Riley Barnett and Dylan Barnett, who will remember him as a source of boundless love and tenderness. The family tree continues with his nephew, Anthony Barnett; nephew, Robert Barnett; niece, Casandra Barnett Cutchens; nephew, Jason Barnett; and niece, Amanda Barnett Harris and her husband Lee Harris, along with several great-nieces and nephews. Joy Hall-Thacker, a special friend of Jeffrey's, also feels the loss of a truly remarkable man.

Jeffrey's embrace of life was reflected in his diverse interests and commitments. An active listener of Tim White's Bluegrass Radio Show and member of the show's Possum Spotter Club, he found a sense of belonging and camaraderie among friends who shared his passions. Jeffrey was a true car enthusiast his whole life. He enjoyed getting his hands dirty in the garage and tinkering with different types of automobiles. He especially loved hot-rods; his favorites were the iconic Mach 1 and Shelby GT 500 Mustangs.

Above all, Jeffrey was a devout Christian. His faith was the foundation upon which he built his life and his most cherished relationships. Those who knew him were touched by his faith-filled outlook and his ability to inspire laughter and joy. Jeffrey was always there when you needed him. He was committed to serving others, and he poured his love and devotion into his children.

As we honor and celebrate the life of Jeffrey D. Barnett, we hold tight to the memories that comfort us and the love that he so generously gave. He has left an indelible mark on our lives, and for that, we are forever grateful. Jeffrey, may you rest in peace and continue to watch over us with the same compassion and love you shared every day.

Jeff did love life . He loved children . My fondest memory is when he went with us on a youth retreat in NC Ridgecrest. There were two teen devil worrsippers there . The first night they were mad sitting there all puffed up . Second night they were laying on the floor begging God to forgive them . It was so exciting to see Yeshua Jesus change and remove the demons from their lives .. As some of us leaders got to see this, Jeff was one . As we are coming back after the service in our room all Jeff could do was let out the war cry for Victory !!! Loud !! humble people we are to see God change hearts and lives . Gods Got ya Jeff ! One day HE will put us all back together in love !! Much love, family Psalms 116:15
