Helen Ernst Obituary

Helen Howington Ernst

October 28, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Helen Howington Ernst, 78 of Johnson City, TN passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, and "Mimi," whose greatest joy came from being with her family.

Helen was strong-willed, loyal, and deeply devoted to those she loved. She faced life's challenges with quiet determination and always stood by her family through every season.

She enjoyed simple pleasures, watching her favorite movies, traveling with loved ones, spontaneous adventures, going out to eat, and sharing time and laughter with family. She had a spirit of adventure and a deep appreciation for the moments spent together.

After losing her beloved husband, Gene, Helen's heart was never quite the same. Their bond was a lasting one, a love that endured beyond time and distance.

She leaves behind her loving son Tony and Fiancé Aundrea along with her Grandchildren Bella, Kolsen, and Eli, all of whom will forever carry her memory and the strength she passed on to them.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that Helen and Gene are together again, side by side in eternal rest. A short committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Annex side) in Johnson City, Tennessee, where Helen and Gene will be laid to rest together.

Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 E Oakland Ave, Johnson City, is honored to serve the Ernst family. (423) 282-1521
