Gordon Ledford Obituary

JONESBOROUGH - Gordon Perry Ledford, 63, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

He was born in Johnson City to the late Roy Lee and JoAnn Francis Ledford.

Gordon attended Boones Creek Christian Church. He was an outdoorsman at heart, especially hunting and fishing. He was a conservation and wildlife enthusiast, which included co-hosting the King Fish radio show.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Perry W. and Virgie Ilo Francis.

Survivors include his sister, Tina Ledford-De Witt (Elbert), Big Bear City, CA; uncle who was like a second father, Perry W. Francis, Jr.; cousins, Rickey Lee Francis (Kimberly), David Francis, Linda Mann, Tammy Patterson (Cody), Kimberly Owens (Jared), Mark Francis (Chelsey); lifelong friends, Eric Greene and Tony Street.

The funeral service for Gordon will be conducted Monday, February 5, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home 800 E. Watauga Ave. Johnson City, TN 37601 with Pastor Brian Snyder, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.

The graveside committal service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be chosen from friends and family. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 A.M.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Colonial Hill Retirement Center, his Nurse Practitioner, Pam Tratham, and his cousin Kimberly Owens for the wonderful care they have shown Gordon.
