JOHNSON CITY - Gilbert Charles "Gil" Dietz passed away peacefully January 23, 2024, in Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
He was a native of Wadsworth, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph F. Dietz Sr. and Genevieve (Schnurrenberger) Dietz. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a long-time member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Wadsworth, Ohio, and Pinecrest Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Gouge Dietz; son, Nathan Dietz of Washington, D.C.; daughter, Betsy Dietz of Jonesborough; sisters, Catherine Lieb and Elaine Fisher; brother, Ralph Frederick (Louise) Dietz, Jr.; stepdaughter, Kathy (Darrell) Current; and stepson, Tony (Beth) Gouge; and grandsons A.J. Lovelace and Mason Lovelace. Mr. Dietz is also survived by step-grandchildren Cody Gatlin (Carrie), Taylor Gouge, Morgan Haynie, Nicolette Stokholm, Carrie Gouge and Shelton Liff (Keegan).
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann (Hath) Dietz. He made the gift of his body for medical research through Restore Life, USA.
