BRISTOL - George Washington Miller III Died on Sunday September 10th, 2023. He was 80 years old. He passed away at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Bristol, Virginia in 1978, and continued life with his family in Bristol. George and his family have lived in Lima, Ohio, Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Miller Simora, her husband Bryon Simora, and his wonderful grandchildren Georgia Claire Simora, and Ryon Felix Simora.
George grew up in Atlanta, attended LSU, and was graduated from Auburn University, as third third-generation Auburn family graduates. George also served in the Marine Corps. He worked for Westinghouse for 34 years, in several industries, holding different management positions. After retirement, George consulted for Von Roll Esola, AO Smith, and Bristol Compressors.
George was a devout Episcopalian and was active in all his residences. George will be cremated. There will be a Funeral at Emmanual Episcopal Church in Bristol, Virginia on October 12th at 11:00am. After the funeral, George will be interred and join his beloved Claire. There will be a "Celebration of Life" immediately following the interment at Emmanual Episcopal

I joined the Marines with George in 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a great friend and sorry to hear of his passing. I decided to look for him while remembering the old days. Sorry I was late to contact him. Time flies.
