Dr. Frank "Allen" Davis

Dr. Frank "Allen" Davis, age 81, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, December 12, 2024.

Allen was born in Johnson City on November 11, 1943, and was the eldest son of the late Kenneth Eugene Davis and Gladys Pauline Baker Davis.

As a graduate of Science Hill High School, he went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from Elysion College, a Master of Bible Study from Universal Bible Institute, studied at Luther Rice, and received a Doctor of Theology from Southern Bible Seminary. Allen had over 52 years of experience in the ministry, having faithfully served Piney Flats First Baptist Church for the past 32 years as Senior Pastor.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Glenna Jean Davis.

Those remaining to cherish his legacy and his memory are: his children, Todd Allen Davis and wife, Bethany (Jonesborough), Traci Deneen Davis Kegley and husband, Steve (Piney Flats); his grandchildren, The Rev. Daniel Seth O'Kegley (Denver), Dr. Zachary Davis Kegley and wife, Mary Beth (Kingsport), Emily Grace Kegley (Johnson City), Connor Michael Davis (Jonesborough); his great-grandchildren, Annabeth Jean Kegley and Kendall Brooke Kegley (both of Kingsport); his siblings, Peggy Hurley (Jonesborough), Kenneth Davis and wife, Tonya (Johnson City), Kathy Shorter and husband, David (South Carolina); and several nieces and nephews. Allen will also be deeply missed by his loving fiancée, Carolyn Reed (Bell Buckle); his Piney Flats First Baptist Church family; numerous friends, colleagues, co-workers; and his beloved four-legged little buddy, Bentley.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Piney Flats First Baptist Church in Piney Flats, Tennessee. The funeral service will immediately follow with Dr. Michael Oaks and the Rev. Charles "Toonie" Cash officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Monte Vista Memorial Park in Johnson City, Tennessee. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.

Pallbearers will be: grandsons, Seth, Zak, and Connor; son-in-law, Steve; brother, Ken; cousin, Larry Stoots; and his nephews. Honorary pallbearers will include the Deacons of Piney Flats First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Piney Flats Baptist Church General Fund, 100 Cherry St., Piney Flats, TN 37686.

Allen was a good man. Back when I first started working with hospice when it was still House Call he was the director.
So very sorry for your loss!
