JOHNSON CITY - Frank Albert Burroughs (69), of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on October 31st, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter, after courageously battling esophageal cancer for two and a half years.
Born on May 16th, 1954, in Sandhofen, Mannheim, Germany, Frank was preceded in death by his loving mother, Marianne Yvonne Burroughs, and adoptive father, Gerald Burroughs. He is survived by his siblings: Linda Nelms, Diana Burroughs, Robert Burroughs, and John Wayne Burroughs.
In 1957, he moved to the United States, eventually settling in East Tennessee. Frank graduated from Daniel Boone High School in 1972.
Frank served in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1979. After an honorable discharge, he briefly attended East Tennessee State University, focusing on art courses.
Frank had an unbridled love and passion for all forms of art throughout his life.
Frank is also survived by his wife of 37 years, Robin Yvonne Hughes-Burroughs; his daughter, Carmen Mercedes Burroughs; his loving in-laws, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and cherished friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, especially the Oncology Dept.
A burial with military funeral honors will take place at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, 53 Memorial Avenue, Mountain Home, 37684, at 2 pm on Friday, November 17th, 2023, followed by a Celebration of Life.
