JOHNSON CITY - Douglas Dwayne Jones, age 50, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Douglas was born August 22, 1972, to Douglas McArthur Jones and Barbara Casteel Jones in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Science Hill High School, and his career was in field services in banking.
Douglas was a member of River of Life Baptist Church.
In his free time, he loved fishing, boating, and anything to do with water. He also enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved very much. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Paul Jones; paternal grandparents, Theodore R. and Margaret Kate Jones; and his maternal grandparents, Elbert and Eliza Casteel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Douglas M. Jones and Barbara Jones; wife, Sissie Jones; children, Logan (Justin) Johnson, Morgan (Kayla) Jones, and Jordan (Kaylee) Jones; and grandchildren, Isabella, Gabriella, and Gabriel Johnson, Braxton Million, and Brayden, Paetyn, and Christian Jones; and sister, Cristy (Donovan) Ward.
Douglas' family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. There will be a private ceremony officiated by Pastor Donnie Humphrey. Douglas will be interred at Glenwood Union Church Cemetery in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
Active pallbearers include Jordan Jones, Morgan Jones, Justin Johnson, Paul Chambers, Donovan Ward, and Dennis Key. Honorary pallbearer is Benny Hawkins.
