Dorothy "Dot" Jordan Parris

March 24, 2026

JOHNSON CITY - Dorothy "Dot" Jordan Parris, of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. She was born to the late Tom and Hattie Jordan in Johnson City, Tennessee on August 22nd.

Dot was a member of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church in Johnson City for many years. She retired from the Johnson City Eye Hospital after working for more than 30 years. Most of all Dot loved her family, she also loved entertaining and playing bridge in her home, she even taught bridge at the Johnson City Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ricky Rogers, husband, Dr. George Parris, stepdaughter, Rita Parris, sister, Jean Crowe, brother, Buddy Jordan, and son-in-law, Monty Vess.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Vess, grandchildren, Stacie (James) Mcilvain, and Julie Vess; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Noah, and Dylan, Payton and Presley, stepson, George Parris and children, Maggie and Emily, sister, Linda Jordan, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12pm in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone attending is asked to meet at the cemetery no later than 11:50am.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Unaka Avenue Baptist Church in Johnson City.
