David Alison Humphries, 68, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on July 27, 2023, with his wife and son by his side.
Dave was born in Alabama on August 22, 1954. He was the son of the late Opie Humphries and Betty Morrison.
Dave always had a passion for heavy duty trucks. His desire and drive enabled him to purchase a Freightliner truck dealership in July 1991. He owned and operated Smoky Mountain Truck Center until February 2017.
Dave loved golf and was fortunate enough to play 4 days a week for years. His second favorite hobby was playing poker with his buddies.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Dana Berry; son, John David Humphries, and his wife Angie; daughter, Amber Humphries; stepson, John Berry, and his wife Holly; three grandchildren, Jacob Berry, Sydney Humphries, and Kayla Humphries; brother, Lew Humphries, and his wife Anita; and his ever-faithful companion Duke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his home, for family and friends on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter, 3411 N. Roan St, Johnson City, TN, (423) 926-8769.

Just seen this. Dave sold me my first semi truck back in 1999. He and Dana sure loved their Pomeranians. RIP Dave and prayers to Dana and the rest of the family
