JOHNSON CITY - Mr. David Eugene Collins, 62, of Johnson City, TN, entered into eternal rest on October 24th, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Collins was born on August 30th, 1963 in Johnson City, TN to John R. Collins, Sr, and the late Emogene Irene Thompson.
After graduating from Science Hill High School in 1981, Mr. Collins was proud to serve his country in the United States Army. He also enjoyed and was talented at flooring installation, a job he held for 20 years. He was proud to share this experience with his coworkers, and especially his sons.
Known for his kind heart and perseverance, Mr. Collins overcame many of life's hardships and had to honor of meeting his grandchildren later in life, gaining the title "Pop Pop".
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers Eddie Johnson, Louis Johnson, and John R. Collins, Jr, his aunt Caroline Scruggs, brother in law Robert Godsey, as well as a close friend, Michelle Mattson, Stepfather John Patton, Mother-in-Law Rebecca Richmond.
As well as his father, survivors of Mr. Collins include his wife Donna, sons Damien (Chantel) Collins and Devon Collins, his brothers Jerry Collins and Shayne Collins, sisters Ernestine Morrison, Rosalyn Robinson, Vikki Johnson, and Christy Brady, grandchildren Alice, Daniel, Desirae, Lily, and Kaitlyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Mr. Collins was truly a wonderful presence and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025 at the Carver Recreational Center from 11am to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to assist with expenses would be appreciated. The Collins family wishes to thank Bristol Regional Medical Center staff for their efforts in prolonging Mr. Collins's Life and to the Carver Recreational Center for providing the venue.
