Charles Richardson Obituary

KINGSPORT - Charles "Chuck" Richardson, 91, Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at The Waters of Kingsport.
He was born in Harlan, KY and was a son of the late George and May Johnson Richardson.
Chuck was a devoted member of Strong Tower Baptist Church in Gray, where he deeply loved his church family. A dedicated truck driver for 46 years, Chuck was also a wonderful father whose kindness and presence will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents Chuck was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Hayes Richardson; daughters, ReneImage Holt and Gwen Buff; grandson, Paul Barber; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Vaughn (Dale); son, Charles Richardson; grandchildren, Anna Richardson, James Richardson (Madison), April Gonzalas (Anthony), Melissa Barber, Justin Crawford, Hope Baird; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Reva Howard; brothers, Ray Richardson, Walter Richardson, George Richardson; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Chuck will be conducted Tuesday, May 20, 2025, 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Pastor Jody Jenkins and Pastor Ansel Presnell, officiating. The graveside service will follow in Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Site) at 1:00 p.m.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
In-lieu-of flowers the family requests donations be made to Strong Tower Baptist Church, 1022 Old Stage Rd. Gray, TN 37615.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nick Lingerfelt and Cisco Rodriguez for always taking care of Chuck and giving him a good laugh.

So sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. I worked in HR when Chuck worked at Walmart. He was such a special person. He always made a point to come and talk with me in personnel when he could. I thought the world of him and glad that I got to know him and call him my friend. Prayers for the family.
