JOHNSON CITY - Carol Roe Fargason, 83, Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
She was born in Elizabethton and was a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma Mitchel Roe.
Carol was an Army wife, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of The Mensa Society. She attended East Tennessee State University and Michigan State University with a degree in accounting as well as a graduate of The School of Protocol in Washington D.C. along with numerous other schools with the United States Army. While living in Seoul, Korea, she was an English teacher at Seoul National University, where she also served as a Consultant for the Red Cross. While Carol lived in Washington State, she was President of the Fort Lewis Officers Wives Club. Upon having a permanent change of station to Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC she served as President of the Fort Bragg Officers Wives Club. Carol did professional modeling for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics in Washington D.C.
She finally made her permanent home in Johnson City with her Boston Terrier puppy, CoCo Chanel. Carol was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Colonel LeRoy Harper Fargason, Jr.
Survivors include her one precious sister, Doris Lee Roe Heath. Carol would also like to remember two special friends that have always been there for her, Charlene Marto and Jeffrey Wallace Renfro.
The funeral service for Carol will be conducted Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. from the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with Rev. Dr. Jody Jenkins, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The graveside committal service will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Allan Renfro, Alex Renfro, Lee Gragg, Josh Simmons, David Newel, Phil Haga. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Ford. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. to follow in procession to the cemetery.
In-lieu-of flowers it was Carol's wish to make donations to the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter at
