Bonnie Maupin Campbell, 88, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at home following a lengthy illness.

Born in Butler, TN she was the daughter of the late Charles Ernest and Maymie Martha Eggers Maupin. Bonnie was a resident of Johnson City for many years.

She married George M. Campbell in 1963, who preceded her in death after 55 years of marriage. She attended Artiste Cosmetology School in 1965 and owned Sandy's Salon from 1967 – 1971. Bonnie retired from Mayes Brothers Tools. She was a member of Greenvale Baptist Church, but attended and was a long-time charter member of King Springs Baptist, until her illness prevented her from doing so.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Cecil and Annie Maupin, as well as her sister-in-law, Mary Lynn, and brothers-in-law Bill Lynn, Wayne Oliver, and Carl Ferguson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Conley, Johnson City, and Kim Campbell, Palm Harbor, FL; three grandchildren, Matt Conley (Kara) and Brooke Conley, all of Johnson City, TN and Parker Campbell Buckley, Palm Harbor; three great grandchildren, Rylie, Bentley and Kenleigh Conley, all of Johnson City; her sisters Lillian Oliver, Betty Ferguson, Louise Thompson (Richard), Margie Barry (Jim), and Viola Verran.

The funeral service for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 12:30 pm from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Addington, officiating. Special music will be provided by The Slagle Family.

The graveside committal service and interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens at 2:00 pm. Active pallbearers will be Matt and Bentley Conley, Parker Campbell Buckley, Timmy Maupin, Johnny Ferguson, Scotty Maupin, Kevin Maupin, and Chris Billings. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Maupin.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm in the East Parlor of the funeral home.

In addition, the family would like to extend special thanks to The Waters of Johnson City, specifically Delicia Bonito, Zack Guinn, Shane Hoch, Jenny Nelson and Amy Eggers.

The family asks that in-lieu-of flowers, memorial donations be made in Bonnie's name to the Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter 3411 N. Roan St, Johnson City, TN 37601.
