Billy Wayne Miller

September 5, 2025

JOHNSON CITY - Billy Wayne Miller, 76, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025.

He was born on March 17th, 1949, in Johnson City, TN to the late Charles William and Elizabeth Agnes (Smith) Miller. Billy is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Cooper; a granddaughter, Harley Starr; and his brother, Jack Miller.

Billy grew up in Johnson City and joined the Marines in 1968, where he was a combat engineer. After his time in the service, he returned to Johnson City and worked in the school system as a custodian for over 30 years. He was quick to help a friend in need and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Michelle Cash; his sons, Shane and Dylan Miller; a grandson, Austin Miller; a niece who was more like a daughter to him, Amber Garcia; as well as three nephews and a niece.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 3:00pm.
