June 22, 1943 - April 17, 2025

ELIZABETHTON -Billy Joe McKinney, 81, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025 at his residence. He was born June 22, 1943 in Carter County to the late George and Irene Guinn McKinney. He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. He served in the United States Army National Guard. Bill was a retired truck drive for Inland Container. He loved watching Westerns on Television. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son: Jason McKinney, A Sister: Joyce Ramey & husband Kelsey. A Brother: Bob McKinney. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The mother of his son: Susan McKinney. Also his four-legged furry buddy "Smokey".

Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Jason Harley officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday. Military Honors will be provided. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
