JOHNSON CITY - Betty Jo Stines, age 55, loving mother and grandmother of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Rosie Lee Stines.
Betty was of the Christian faith. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jeremy Stines and wife Lisa, Richard Barkman and wife Ashley, and Dreama Hicks; eight grandchildren, Brooke Curtis, Haley Stines, Tony Hyatt, Hannah Stines, Jeremiah Stines, Tristan Jackson, Ellis Barkman, and Jacklyn Hicks; three great grandchildren, Daxton Hyatt, Scarlett Stines, and Colton Stines; three sisters, Marilyn Gouge, Debbie Carver, and Brandy Stines; three brothers, Eddie Stines, Jeff Stines, and Charlie Stines; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Minister Vernon Perry officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Johnson City Medical Center, especially Josh for all their love and care that was shown.

I just found out about Betty passing, I'm so sorry dreama, Brandy, Charlie, and the rest family. Betty has a great attitude and made me laugh allot during my 25 yrs plus knowing here. Rip Betty.
