PINEY FLATS - Anna Mae Johnson, 92, Piney Flats, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024 in the Life Care Center of Gray. She was a native of Buladean, North Carolina and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Clark Roberts. Mrs. Anna Mae loved cooking and family time. She enjoyed the outdoors, sightseeing and picnicking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Scott Smith; also fourteen brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Paul Johnson Jr.; a son, Terry M. Smith of Piney Flats; two granddaughters, Becky Smith of Johnson City and Tina Smith of Jonesborough; four great-grandchildren, William Burton, Josh Smith and his wife, Arianna, Ashely Smith and Joshua Burton and his wife, Leanne; eleven great- great-grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Walker Smith, Mason Smith, Moniex Buchanan, Rylee Hassett, Joshua, Lellane, Jaylen, Pierson, August and Caybron; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Mae will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2024 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Charlie Frazier officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.
