Allen Lenore Phipps

ELIZABETHTON - Allen Lenore Phipps, age 90, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at NHC Healthcare. Allen was born April 22, 1935, in Watauga, Tennessee, a son of the late Allen Basil Phipps and Mary Moody Phipps.

Allen was a devoted husband and father, with a strong Christian faith. Allen loved bird hunting, trap and skeet shooting and spending time on the family farm. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in electrical engineering. Allen retired from the Johnson City Power Board where he was employed for 38 years as an electrical engineer and the general manager.

Allen attended First Christian Church of Johnson City and was a member of the Johnson City Lions Club and the Unaka Rod and Gun Club.

Those left to cherish Allen's memory include his wife, Patsy Phipps; a daughter, Alana Jay Davis and husband Don Davis; a son, Patrick Allen Phipps and wife Angie Phipps; his grandchildren, Alexandra Davis, Jacob Allen Davis, Nicholas Wade Davis and Macy Katherine Davis; and Rachel Allyn Payne; and three great grandchildren, Heidi Davis, Daxton Payne and Penelope Diekmann.

A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Allen to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
