Donald Lee Kvach, 89, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Harmony of Cedar Rapids. Military graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are in charge of arrangements.

Donald was born on November 3, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Louis and Hazel (Slaughter) Kvach. Don served in the United States Army and Air Force. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, tending to his lawn, fishing, and occasionally visiting the casino.

Don is survived by his long-time companion Alty Malone; his children Rhonda Smith, Georgia Deverueu, Kathy Conway, Corinna Guerra, and Tonya Valdes; his seven grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; brother James (Loretta) Kvach; Judy Owens; sister-in-law Gayle Kvach; brother-in-law Don Vanourney; Alty's children Misty Klima, Sandra Cummings, Rene Anderson, Jacqueline Vollbrecht and Mark Malone; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Ricky Kvach, his brother Robert Kvach; his sister Loretta Vanourney and his brother-in-law Bob Owens.

Memorials may be directed to the Marion VFW in his name.
