Kevin Riggs Obituary

Kevin David Riggs, 61, of New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his residence following an extended illness. Kevin was born on March 18, 1964, in Frankfurt, Germany, a son of Charles and Gisela (Licht) Riggs.

He was a 1982 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Kevin was employed by the Indiana Department of Transportation from 1984 until his retirement in 2014.

Kevin enjoyed spending time fishing and was an avid knife collector. These hobbies brought him great enjoyment throughout his life.

Kevin is survived by his loving parents, Charles "Charlie" and Gisela Riggs; sister, Denise (Dave) Dollens, Sharra (Dan) Derscheid; brother, Brian Riggs and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Kevin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Milford and Mossaline Riggs; maternal grandmother, Ida Licht.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Heather, Julie, Paige and Brooke; these ladies are members of Kevin's Reid Hospice Team that provided exceptional care to Kevin and his family.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Jr. Maloyed officiating. Entombment will follow at Green Hills Memory Garden.
