WAYNE -- Sandra (Sandy) Mulkey, 65, formally of Wayne, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Hospice of Perrysburg.
She was born on November 22, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Edward and Lois (Lawson) McDonald. On May 2, 1987, she married the love of her life, Dennis Mulkey, who preceded her in death on December 23, 2020.
Sandy dedicated her life to caring for others. For over a decade, she ran an in-home daycare. As her own children grew, she continued her passion for early childhood education by working as a teacher's assistant in the preschool program at Northwood Schools.
Sandy loved crafting, gardening, bingo, puzzles, and above all, spending time with her beloved pets. Her deep love for animals was evident to all who knew her.
But nothing brought Sandy more joy than her family. Her greatest pride and happiness came from being surrounded by the ones she loved most.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandy is survived by her beloved children Dennis (Laura) Mulkey II, Kenneth (Krystal) Mulkey, Rochelle (Chuck) Meyer, Nicki (Kyle) Friedley, Michelle Mulkey, her siblings Tim (Carol) McDonald, Shawn (Tom) Poprocky, Eddie (Judy) McDonald, Scott McDonald, Mark (Bobbi) McDonald, Shirley Lynn, Brian (Angie) McDonald, grandchildren Brittany, Brandi, Jordan, Taryn, Johnny, Chloe, Kaden, Mason, Charlotte, Jaxson, Marshall and great grandson Johnny Drew.
Along with her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Cherie Ostrander.
