Allen Green Obituary
Allen Green, Sr., of East Dublin, GA, passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 73. He was a man whose life was defined by devotion to his loved ones, his faith, and his country.
Allen was born on May 28, 1952, in Dublin, GA, to the late James Thomas Green and Doris Toler Green. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Connie Green and together, they raised a family that includes their daughter, Jennifer Edmondson (Tommy), and son, Allen Green, Jr. (April).
Allen's joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Kristen Best (George), Dalton Green (Carli), Wes Green (Anna), Alli Green, Clint Edmondson (Hillary), Shelby Edmondson, Logan Wynne, Kenslee Pitts, and John C. Pitts, IV. His great-grandchildren, George Best, Jr., Tucker Edmondson, Avery Edmondson, and Levi Edmondson, brought him immense pride and happiness. He also leaves behind his sister, Sue Sumner (Lewis) of Dublin, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss him dearly.
A dedicated worker, Allen retired from West Fraser after many years of committed service. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his contributions to the company were deeply valued. Allen also served his country with honor in the United States National Guard, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty.
Allen's life was a reflection of his passions. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in fishing, hunting, and crabbing. These activities were not just hobbies but a way for him to connect with nature and the Creator he so fervently believed in. As a faithful servant and member of Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene, Allen's faith was the cornerstone of his existence. He lived his beliefs through every action and word, inspiring those around him to embrace a life of faith and purpose.
Allen's life was a testament to the power of living with a generous heart and unwavering faith. He was a loving husband, a guiding father, and an adoring Papa. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the lives of his family and the many friends who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service celebrating Allen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, in the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Chad Potts and Rev. John Strand will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
