Mary Shilling, 90, died suddenly of natural causes on January 17, 2026. She was born September 2, 1935, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Lena Hoffman. Mary graduated from Columbus Grove High School and attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was married to Glen Kidd for 25 years and had 5 children. She later married Dick Shilling, and they celebrated 33 years together before his death. Glen survives. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dick, Mary was preceded in death by her 4 siblings. She endured the death of 3 children. Sister-in-law Rose Hoffman in Ohio survives. Also surviving are 2 children and 4 stepchildren. She has 3 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Born and raised in OH, she lived in PA as an adult and moved to TN in 1995. She volunteered at the hospital and the local playhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cumberland County Playhouse (221 Tennessee Ave, Crossville, TN 38555 or 931-710-5352), St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (7503 Peavine Rd, Crossville, TN 38558), or Christ Lutheran Church (481 Snead Drive, Crossville, TN 38558) in memory of Mary Shilling.

I am sad to hear about Mary. I was Marys computer man. I saw her often over the years. You could not have met a nicer, sweeter woman. We had some good discussions and I will miss her. Glad that she is with Dick now.
