Bro. Willie C. Carter
June 28, 1940 – October 21, 2025
My name is Willie C. Carter, and I was born on June 28, 1940, in Maury City, Tennessee, to my loving parents, Clifton and Lavern Carter. On October 21, 2025, my journey here on earth came to a peaceful close but my story lives on in the hearts of those I love.
I grew up in Crockett County and attended Poplar Forrest Elementary School, where I learned the value of faith, hard work, and perseverance. Life wasn't always easy, but I was raised to stand tall, trust God, and keep pressing forward.
Over the years, I worked many jobs, but I spent much of my time at Pictsweet Farms in Bells, Tennessee. That job taught me pride, discipline, and the importance of doing every task with integrity. Even when my health began to fail, I kept my faith and never stopped fighting. My spirit remained strong because I knew God was with me every step of the way.
I was blessed with a wonderful family and friends who filled my life with joy. I was preceded in death by my parents, Clifton and Lavern Carter, and my sister, Opalene Carter, who I know welcomed me home with open arms.
To carry on my memory, I leave behind my son, Willie C. Carter Jr. of Maury City, TN; my daughters, Lillie May Williams of Jackson, TN, and Debra Kenton of St. Louis, MO; my brother, Melvin Carter of Milwaukee, WI; and my aunts, Hattie Carter of Maury City, TN, and Arnell Butler of Alamo, TN. I also leave behind a host of grandchildren, relatives, and dear friends who meant the world to me.
A special thank you to the women who shared in my life's journey your love, care, and kindness will never be forgotten.
If I could leave one message behind, it would be this: keep your faith, love one another, and be thankful for every blessing. Life is precious, and though my time here has ended, my spirit lives on in every smile, every laugh, and every act of love you share.
I've finished my race and found my rest no more pain, no more sorrow, just peace in God's embrace. Until we meet again, remember me with joy and keep living life with love.
With everlasting love,
Bro. Willie C. Carter
