Terry Pike Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Mar. 9, 2026.
Terry Ray Pike Sr., known to many as "Tip," was born in LaGrange, Georgia, on November 25, 1957. He was the son of the late Toby Pike and Mildred Cosper Pike. Tip passed away on March 8, 2026, at Piedmont Hospital in Newnan, Georgia, surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by the love of his life, Connie Furgerson Pike, whom he shared 47 years of marriage with; his son, Terry Ray Pike Jr.; brother, Danny Butler (Ruth); sisters, Patricia Presley (the late Steve Presley), Susan Holland (Dick), and Donna Pike; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved deeply.

In his later years, Tip opened his home and heart to care for his mother-in-law, Joyce.

A carpenter by trade, Tip worked for Torrance Construction for 47 years. Over the course of his career, he helped build many schools, commercial buildings, and several homes, including his own. His work reflected his pride in an honest day's work and the quiet satisfaction of building things meant to last.

Tip enjoyed NASCAR races, traveling, the television show Mountain Men, scrapping and scratching, and most of all, he loved to ride.

Tip was a man of few words, deeply loved by many and respected by all who knew him. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and humility.

He has gone to be with our Lord, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, love, and quiet strength that will endure.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Jimmy McMillian officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive on Friday at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 pm.

Donations may be made to the LaGrange Troup County Humane Society.

One of the fairest fellows I ever worked for. Tip would more or less suggest that to follow his instructions would be in the best interest of everyone involved in the job. And you know what? He was right. Never pretentious. Always thinking. A true builder. He will be sorely missed, but Praise God he finished the race. Cliff and Gail Coats. Bremen.
