Ronnie Turner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory - Bartlesville on Mar. 9, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Ronnie Lee Turner, a deeply cherished father, grandfather, and friend. Ronnie passed away at the age of 68 after courageously and faithfully battling health challenges for more than three years. His strength, perseverance, and quiet faith carried him through each day with dignity and grace.

Born on March 10, 1957, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Ronnie lived a life defined by kindness and unwavering devotion to those he loved. For 50 years, he called Bartlesville, Oklahoma home. He was known by many and loved by all. His presence could truly light up a room. With his warm smile, ready laugh steady encouragement, and generous hugs he left a lasting imprint on every heart he touched.

Early in his career, Ronnie worked in the accounting department at Phillips 66 and later spent several rewarding years as an area wide salesman with the Medsource Corporation. Later he founded Turner Purchasing. He also worked as a car salesman at a Honda dealership. He has lasting friendships from each place of employment. In later years, he found tremendous pride and purpose serving as a school bus driver for Bartlesville Public Schools. What may have seemed like an ordinary job to some was, for Ronnie, a daily opportunity to invest in young lives. Many still delighted in crossing his path around town, often stopping to reminisce about the special privilege of riding "THE bus." It was more than just transportation - it was laughter, life lessons, a steady presence they could count on, and… dance moments!

Beyond his work, he volunteered for many years as both a soccer and basketball coach, pouring his time, energy, and heart into the youth of the community. He reached and shaped the lives of countless young athletes. Time and again, former athletes would warmly share that he had been like a father to them. That was the measure of the man he was.

Yet above all, Ronnie's greatest joy and proudest title was that of family man. He was a devoted and loving father to his two sons, Christopher Turner and Benjamin Turner. His eyes would light up at the mention of his eight grandchildren, each one a treasure who brought immeasurable joy and meaning to his life. He rarely missed a game, a holiday gathering, or an opportunity to tell a well-loved story. With his familiar chuckle, he would teasingly say of the younger generation that "they missed the party!"-a reflection of both his humor and his deep appreciation for the life he had lived.

Ronnie believed in hard work, loyalty, and lending a hand to anyone in need. Whether greeting students each morning with kindness, coaching grandkids from the sidelines, or quietly listening to a friend who needed support, he strengthened the fabric of the community.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher Turner and his wife, Melissa, and Benjamin Turner; his eight beloved grandchildren, Jaden, Jordan, Beckham, Elijah, Logan, Noah, Chloe, and Noelle; his sister, Carol Turner; his brother, Ralph Breckenridge; and countless friends whose lives are richer because of him and who will forever carry his laughter, wisdom, and love in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Turner and Mable "Tiny" Harvey; his sister, Lucielle Jackson; and his brothers, Nolan Banks and Darrell Turner.

Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."
