Ronald W. Clemins of Woodbury Heights NJ died on July 6, 2024 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden.
He was born Ronald Klimzcak in Philadelphia in 1945 to Albert and Anna (Micheinska) Klimzcak Clemins. He attended St. Cecelia grade school and Cardinal Dougherty HS. He received an associate degree from Penn State University. He later entered the US Navy where he served as a petty officer from 1964-72. Subsequently, he served in the 157th Army in Horsham PA and finally in the Air Force Reserve from 1987 to 2005, where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He also received another associate degree from the Air Force. In 1972, he joined the Philadelphia police force where he served as a street patrolman, detective and mayoral detail for 31 years.
In 2001, Ron met the love of his life, Rita (Glodek) Mangan, who survives. They married in 2019. They shared a love of dancing, and she, along with everyone he knew, endured his never-ending trove of jokes. He always delivered his jokes while standing at attention, reminding you to smile, and asking permission to add some "saltiness" to them. Gifted with a knack for fixing almost anything, Ron was an incredibly industrious and handy guy. Despite being a certified locksmith, he was unable to open two lockboxes in his own home!
A devout Catholic, Ron attended services regularly at St. Patricks/Holy Angels church, where his priest and fellow parishioners waited anxiously after Mass for him to share some of his less "salty" jokes.
Ron loved his stepchildren and grandchildren, who affectionately referred to him as "Pop-Pop."
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Irene (Renée) Maier and Albert Jr. and one nephew, Kenny. He is survived by his wife, Rita, and stepchildren: Linda (John) Crimi, Sean Mangan, Erika (Will) Burke, and Justine Mangan. He has ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew: Cindy (Warren) Brown, Judith (Thom) Partelow, Vicky (Ed) Weiss and Tony Clemins. He has many great-nieces and nephews.
He is loved and remembered by his many co-workers and colleagues in the military, police force and church, as well as his friends and family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Tunnels to Towers Foundation in Ron's name.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ron's viewing on Monday, July 15th, 2024 from 9am - 11am located at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury NJ 08096, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11am. Please join us in laying Ron to rest at Forest Hills/Shalom Memorial Park located at 25 Byberry Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 immediately following the funeral service. Casual attire is welcome.

Ron was truly one of a kind. He always had a joke to tell you. He was a person that if you needed something and he could help you, he did.

Ron is a person who brings many memories to mind....His high kicks outside the mayor's office to show he could still be in the Rockettes! He "dad jokes" long before anyone ever head of dad jokes.

But the Ron I'll remember is a person with the biggest heart of anyone I know or will ever know, a man who would give you his last dollar, or work on your home to all hours of the day and night to help you out.

He's a man that anyone who has ever had contact with will never forget, and always miss.

Uncle Ron has been in my life for as long as I can remember. He was 12 years older and was always a part of our family activities and events. He was funny, kind and sincerely loved his family. How do you sum up the life of Uncle Ron? He will always have the key to our hearts even when they are broken. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. I love you Uncle Ron. We love you Uncle Ron. Cindy and your best man Warren.

My Uncle Ron was more like a big brother to me. He was only 10 mos. older, as his mother had him late in life. We were playmates for as long as I can remember. He would lead and I would follow. He was always full of stories and dreaming up ways to make money. He was so kind to his parents. He wanted to give them everything. I´ll miss him terribly!
