Mary Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Jan. 29, 2026.
Graniteville, SC……. Mary Jane Hall, 88, widow of Rev. John Hall, entered into rest on January 27, 2026.

A Celebration of Mary Jane's Life will be held at Victory Baptist Church on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 3:00 PM, Pastor CT Townsend officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at the church an hour prior to the service.

An additional Celebration of Life service will be held at The Cross Wesleyan Church, 100 W 3rd St., Rochester, IN on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00. The family will begin receiving friends at the church an hour prior to the service. A meal will follow the service. Interment will be at a later date at Bedford Cemetery, Monon, IN.

Mary Jane was born in Marion, IN on September 8, 1937 to the late Rev. Garl and Virgia Shaw. She graduated from Adams Central high school in Monroe, IN in 1955, then earned her degree in elementary education from Marian College in 1959, and her Masters in Education in 1967. In 1963 she married Rev. John Hall.

As a Pastor's wife, Mary Jane served for 31 years in ministry alongside her husband at several churches in Indiana. She also taught elementary school for 33 years in Indiana. Most of her life was spent in Indiana until July 2021 when she made the decision to move with her daughter to South Carolina. She enjoyed being a part of Victory Baptist Church, as well as Victory Seniors. Special friends would gather at her home for various parties, meals, or small groups that her daughter led. This group of friends was special to her and called her "grandma."

Mary Jane spent her life serving God. She was saved at a young age, and she is seeing Him face to face today. She would want everyone to know that Heaven is a real place, and you can go there by accepting Jesus as your Savior. This will allow you to see her again in her glorified body free of dialysis clinics and constant pain.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Shaw (Phyllis).

Survivors include her children, Karen Hall of Graniteville, SC and Jay Hall (Peggy) of Winamac, IN; grandchildren Krystal Sellers of Goshen, IN, Jaylynn Hall of Smithville, MO, Breanna Warren (Cree) of Winamac, IN, Lena Hall (Sam Teel) of Winamac, IN, and Nicholas Hall of Winamac, IN; great-grandchildren Kalvin McGee, Dillion Warren, and William Warren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Norton of Burlington, WI.

Scripture mentions; A Peace that Passed all Understanding.
I am blessed with that peace because of this lady and her faith, love of family and kindness to others.
Rev. John Hall and Mary Jane, are and will always be a reminder and a blessing of true Christians, who walked the walk and praised God, always, during the best and worst of times.
There is that promised peace instilled within us, knowing they were and are warmly embraced in His arms.
Being granted the opportunity to share in their lives, faith and ministry, is an irreplaceable gift granted by God's Grace.
Blessed!
Thank You for the Christian impact that touched each of our lives!
