Kathy Kihm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lane Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service - Austintown Chapel on Apr. 3, 2024.
Kathy J. Kihm, 70, of Girard, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 2, 2024, at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. She was born the daughter to the late Michael Chichak and Dolores (Beautus) Chichak in Youngstown, Ohio, and was a 1972 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She was an Administrative Assistant at Community Corrections Association for 25 years before retiring.

Kathy married her husband, David Kihm, on August 26th, 2000, after her best friend, Sue Grove, set them up on a blind date back on July 14th, 1991. The rest you could say is history. Kathy enjoyed many things in her life, such as her cats, feeding the wildlife in her backyard, gardening, a deep passion for flowers, spending time with her family and enjoyed the occasional cocktail, especially Kahlúa.

Kathy leaves behind to cherish her memory and carry on her love, her husband, her son, Christopher (Vicki) Barton Sr., and stepdaughters, Jessie (Howard Patterson) Canavan, and Melissa (Daniel) Knupp; and 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Bailee) Barton Jr., Kiernan Canavan, Kaia Canavan, Connor Knupp, and Caylee Knupp.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Tusin.

Friends and family may call from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel with a service to immediately follow.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place at a later date.
