Katherine E. Coward "Kay" (nee Kessler), age 86, of Franklinville, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Camden, NJ, Katherine lived in Williamstown, NJ, Florida, and Virginia before settling in Franklinville 24 years ago.
Kay was the epitome of a doting mother, grandmother, and eventually great-grandmother. Her family was her entire world, and she dedicated herself to them with unwavering love and care. Her grandkids and great-grandkids brought her immense joy, and she adored being involved in their lives.
She had a passion for gardening and loved watching the birds as they visited her yard. She cherished peaceful moments on her deck, soaking in the beauty of her surroundings. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed getting lost in a good book. Kay will be missed dearly by her family, and her legacy will live on through them.
Beloved wife of the late John S. Coward. Devoted mother of Laura Bolt (David) and Kathy Sougstad (Chris). Loving grandmother of Summer Sougstad, CJ Sougstad, Victoria Clarke (Thomas), Megan Miller, Ashley Moran (Grant), Alyson Filewicz (Andrew). Adoring great grandmother of Genevieve Clarke, Paige Clarke, Angel Biernacki, Lily Miller, Elsie Moran, Grant Moran, Jr., Maggie Moran, Colton Moran, Owen Filewicz, Kennedy Filewicz, and Teagan Kay Filewicz. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Services are being held privately at the request of the family.
