Juan Soza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory - West Odessa on Jan. 13, 2026.
Juan "Jimmy" Jaime Soza, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Odessa, Texas. Born on June 22, 1958, in Del Rio, Texas, Jimmy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and optimism that he so effortlessly spread to all who knew him.
Jimmy's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Sue Soza, with whom he shared love and laughter. His spirit lives on through his sons, Jaime (Samantha) Soza, and Frankie (Desiree) Chavez, who will forever remember their father's wisdom and gentle guidance. Jimmy's memory will also be cherished by his brothers, Robert (Helen) Soza and Javier (Rosie) Soza, and his sisters, Alicia (Amador) Cuellar and Norma (Rudy) Telles, who were not just siblings but lifelong friends. His joyous presence will be profoundly missed by his grandchildren, Kenzie Johnson, Embry Soza, and Cameron Soza, who were the light of his life.
Preceded in death by his parents, Margarita and Felipe Soza, his sister, Martha Jimenez, and his nephew John Michael Soza. Jimmy's reunion with them is envisioned as a joyous one, filled with the same warmth and affection he shared during his time on earth.
Jimmy's love for the outdoors was a hallmark of his life. He found solace and excitement on the golf course, tranquility by the water while fishing, and adventure in the woods during hunting trips. His passion for sports was undeniable, with a particular fondness for the Dallas Cowboys and the Longhorns, which sparked many lively conversations and cherished memories with friends and family.
Above all, Jimmy was a man who relished the simple pleasures of life. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, whether sharing a meal or simply enjoying each other's company. His loving and kind nature was the cornerstone of countless family gatherings, and his legacy of love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center or Catholic Charities of Odessa.
A Memorial Service for Juan "Jimmy" Soza will be held 10am, Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Elizabeth.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent online to the family at acreswestfuneral.com.
