Patricia "Trish" Jean Johnson Richards, 81 years young, of Woodstock, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Northwest Hospital.

She was born on November 18, 1944, in Kingsport, TN, Trish was the daughter of the late Carson James Johnson and Maggie (Lawson) Johnson.

Trish was the devoted and loving wife of Charles James "Jim" Richards, sharing 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built not only a life but also a successful drywall business side by side. Though she worked hard alongside Jim, if you asked Trish, she would proudly say her greatest joy was being a homemaker and caring for her family.

Trish lived life with energy and enthusiasm. She played on women's softball team, bowled in a league, and shared her deep love of reading with her sisters and best friend. While she did not regularly attend church, her faith was strong and ever-present in her life. As a breast cancer survivor, Trish gave back generously, faithfully donating to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Trish is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; her daughter Laurie Hill; sons Mark Hill, Michael Richards and wife Amber, Jeff Richards and wife Tammy, Danny Richards and wife Debra. She was a proud grandmother to Tia Hill Yates, Michael Richards Jr, Shea Richards, Jeffrey Richards, Daniel Richards, and Julianna Richards, and a treasured great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Heather Wallen and nephew, Rick Upman, as well as her best friend's daughter Lori Bourne.

She was preceded in death by her son Chuck Richards; her sisters Latrina"Tina" Upman and Rita "Chrissy"Wallen; her niece Christina "Sue" Edmondson and dear best friend; Carole Richards.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.

Trish will be remembered for her warm smile, her strength, her generosity, and the deep love she had for her family and friends.

Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
