Esther Besch Obituary

Esther J. Besch, 97, formerly of Souderton, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Oakpark Health and Rehab Center in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Esther was the loving wife of the late William Besch who preceded her in death in 2017.

Born in Souderton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Henry A. and Sophia B. (Fretz) Krout.

Esther was a 1946 graduate of S.A.H.S. She was employed as a typesetter at Jostens for 10 years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed attending the Curlew United Methodist Church in Palm Harbor, Fl. Esther was also an active member of the U.M.W. group. She was the treasurer of the Sunday school class, very active in the Highland Park Camp Meeting in Sellersville, PA. and also sang in the church choir at both Grace and Curlew United Methodist Church for many years. Esther was also very active with Palm Harbor's food pantry.

Esther is survived by her children, William Scott Besch and his wife Lorna of Telford, PA and Susan Jane (Besch) Gilbert of Souderton, PA. Esther is also survived by her two great- grandchildren Jaylee Gilbert Saltmer and Lucas Detweiler. She is predeceased by her sister Ruth Trauger and her husband Rev. Earl, son-in-law Galen G. Gilbert, grandson Brandon S. Gilbert and granddaughter Skye Amber Gilbert.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Highland Park Camp Meeting Association, 415 Highland Park Rd., Sellersville, PA 18960.
