                                                     Marion E. Larrabee

BARRE:  Marion Ethel Larrabee, 85, died Tuesday October 8, 2025, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

She was born June 12, 1940, in Albany, Vt., the daughter of the late Laural S. and Dora (Stevens) Hooker. She attended Greensboro public schools and graduated from Hardwick Academy in the class of 1954.

Marion was first employed on her family’s dairy farm.  She was an aid at Berlin Convalescent Health and Rehab in Berlin and Rowen Court Nursing Home in Barre. She moved to Connecticut where she was employed at a Military Hospital and until she retired in 2005, she was a caregiver to the elderly.

She was a member of the Salvation Army, the Barre Senior Citizens and the Barre Grange # 535.  Marion enjoyed walking, puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include: four sons Michael Larrabee of Barre, Alfred Larrabee of East Calais, Steven Larrabee of Baltimore, MD., John Larrabee, FL.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a son Brian Larrabee, a daughter Joy Larrabee and two brothers, Wayne Hooker and Harold Hooker.  

Graveside Services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick with Rev. Ernest Machia officiating.
