James William Hodge, aged 83, of Longtown, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at his home on October 19, 2025. Born on May 29, 1942, in Gilmer, Texas, he was the beloved son of James Otis and Faye Helen (Moore) Hodge. After completing his education at Del City High School in 1961, James embarked on a life filled with love and achievements.
On November 13, 1971, James married his partner and soulmate, JoAnn Madden, in Oklahoma City. Their marriage was a testament to love and commitment, lasting for forty-six wonderful years until her passing on April 19, 2018.
James was renowned in the mobile home moving industry, earning a reputation among his peers for his remarkable skills, particularly for backing homes up further than many have transported them down I-40. His expertise and dedication to his work left a lasting legacy in his community.
A loving family man, James cherished spending time on the water, taking his family and friends out on his boat. He also had an impressive knowledge of local eateries, always knowing where the best dining options were in every town throughout Oklahoma.
James is survived by his sons, Jimmy Hodge and wife Lisa of Haskell, Jamie Hodge and wife Sonya of Ada, Tracy Butler and wife Teresa of Moore, and Franklin Hodge and wife Misti of Norman; his daughters, Jenny Hodge and boyfriend Randy of Longtown and Blanche Herbert and husband Michael of Bradenton, Florida; along with eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
