Carlotta was instrumental in my getting my dream job at Wolfson. She encouraged me to shine my light, believing in me more than I believed in myself. So many fun evenings with Wolfson friends at Carlotta´s. Lots of wine and good conversation. Charm, grace, beauty, dazzling intellect; no one can take her place.

I worked with Carlotta for more than eight years until her retirement and have to say it was the best working environment I've had the pleasure of experiencing. She was always so supportive and thoughtful of everything I worked on and constantly encouraging as well as providing a very attentive ear when necessary. She couldn't have been kinder and always made sure to thank me for the work I'd done at the end of every day. She was a hard worker and brought out the best in everyone but never forgot to bring some humor to every situation. I can't think of anyone who was more influential in helping me achieve what I have in my career. I can directly attribute my entering teaching and my many years of success in the field to Carlotta. She truly was a pillar and a mentor and will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts go out to her, someone I will definitely always hold close in my heart.

Ms. Ray in 2018, with Holly Lodinger Mandelkern and Philip Smith, in Jacksonville. Fifty years later, she was still sharing her wisdom, insight, and grace with her former students. She was a friend of Edith Cowles, another outstanding teacher and author who was a friend of my father's at old Lee HS in the 1930s. If anyone knew Edith, please contact me.
