Brian David Ahrens, 63, passed away Monday morning, October 30, 2023.
He was born to the late Alvin and Delores Ahrens, January 28, 1960, in St. Louis, MO. Brian grew up in North County and graduated from Hazelwood Central High School in 1978. Shortly after graduating, Brian met Susie in 1979. They married in 1981 and recently celebrated their forty-second wedding anniversary.
Brian earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Missouri- St. Louis, graduating with honors. He also became a distinguished member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. Brian D. Ahrens, CPA, established a professional corporation dedicated to providing expert guidance in small business accounting, payroll processing, and income tax services.
For more than 25 years, Brian was the principal and owner of his accounting firm. Trust and reputation were paramount in Brian's firm. He had a passion for his work and maintained incredibly high standards, which led to a successful long-term client base. Many of these client relationships evolved into lasting friendships. Even throughout his fight against his illness, through staff and intermediaries, Brian endeavored to address his client commitments, overseeing the completion of all the work engagements under his purview, with no known exceptions. That was the essence of our Brian-a professional who truly embodied the ideals of trust, dedication, and exceptional service.
Brian was a devout Christian and a member of Wentzville Christian Church. He cherished spending time with his family, and treasured being a "proud Poppie" to his grandchildren. He loved to travel, attend concerts, fish, and play golf.
Brian is survived by his wife Susie; son Daniel (Alicia); daughter Jessie (Paul); grandchildren; brothers Gary (Debbie) and Kenn (Angie); brother-in-law Gary Negri; mother in law Madeline Negri; nieces and nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Delores Ahrens, and father-in-law Richard Negri.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his name to Wentzville Christian Church (1507 Highway Z, Wentzville, MO, 63385), or The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential (8801 Stenton Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA, 19038, https://iahp.org/donate/).
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 9-12, followed by the funeral service.

I first met Brian in 2002, I was referred to him when I was seeking a CPA. Once we connected, I felt as though we had known one another for years. He was such an amazing person, caring and always willing to assist. He adored his family and was very proud of them; we often shared stories about our families. He was truly a one of a kind soul. I am still in shock that he has passed, God needed him in Heaven much sooner than we all expected. Keeping the family in our prayers, God Bless. Brian, my friend, may you Rest in Peace!
