Mae Benedict

June 21, 1928 - August 28, 2025

Mae Elaine (Stutlien) Benedict passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025 at the Osseo Hospital. She was born on June 21, 1928 to Alfred and Pearl Stutlien in rural Whitehall, WI.

She married Truman L. Benedict on November 10, 1951 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. They farmed in the Township of Pleasant Valley before moving to Eleva in 1980.

Mae was involved with the Eleva Lutheran Church women groups; helping with the annual pie social and making many quilt tops. She was also an avid gardener, raising beautiful flowers and delicious fruits and vegetables.

Mae is survived by her children: Steven (Jayne) Benedict of Inverness, FL, Sharon (Jan) Deetz and Jill Benedict of Eleva, WI and JoAnn (Steve) Schlosser of Durand, WI; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister, Doris Husberg of Eau Claire, WI and her sister-in-law, Irene Stutlien of Whitehall, WI, along with nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Truman L. Benedict; her parents, Alfred and Pearl Stutlien; her sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Silas Brenengen; brother, Elmo Stutlien; brother-in-law, Glen Benedict; and in-laws, Rueben and Helen Benedict.

A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026.
