Dean E. Schwoch

May 11, 1940 - September 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dean Edward Schwoch, 85, of Augusta, WI, who died Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Born on May 11, 1940, the son of Otto and Martha (Zillmer) Schwoch. He was raised in Augusta, where he attended school and graduated from Augusta High School 1958. After graduating he worked for Jungerberg Construction.

At that time, he met the love of his life, Virginia Anne Pettis. They were married in 1960 and from that point on went into farming. In 1964 they purchased a farm in Lincoln Township, rural Fall Creek, farming that until 1991 when they moved to their present farm. He retired in 2002. After retiring, he took up a hobby of collecting full-size and toy tractors. Earlier in his life, he truly enjoyed playing softball with the Farm Fun League in the Augusta area.

Dean is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 65 years; children, Ferland (Letty) Schwoch of Hampton, Minnesota, Tim (Michelle) Schwoch of Mosinee, Wendy (Wayne) Jennings of Osseo, and Sharon Schwoch (Chris Moss) of Chippewa Falls. 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Wilma Bird, sisters-in-law, Ursula Roepke, Pat Schwoch, Harriet (Daryl) Dehnke, Marcella, Beverly, and Betty Pettis; brother -in-law, Ellis (Marjorie) Pettis, 56 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Martha Schwoch; father and mother-in-law, Ivan and Vada Pettis; son Eugene "Pork" Schwoch; siblings, William, Helen, Edna, Gordan, Dale (Arlie) and Harvey, in-laws, James (Inez) Everett( Marcella), Ervin (Evelyne), Gerald, Leland, Lorena, Linda (Edwin), Ivan Jr., and Clarence; grandchildren, Desmond and Leah Schwoch.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. September 12th, at the United Methodist Church in Augusta, with a visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Scotts Valley Cemetery, Augusta, Wisconsin.
