Victor Mascone Obituary

Victor E. Mascone, Sr.
Victor E. Mascone Sr., 95, loving husband of Lorraine (Beauvais) Mascone for over 71 years, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Hartford Hospital. His daughter, Kim, was by his side. Victor was born in Hartford, CT, on Front Street, the youngest of six children to Maria Domenica (Barone) Mascone and Orazioantonio Mascone.
Victor and Lorraine met while roller skating and began dating. They got married November 8, 1952, after he was in the Army, and settled in Hartford, then moved to Enfield for a few years, before moving and raising 4 children in South Windsor, CT. Victor graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Allen Manufacturing with some of his siblings; and then went on to work at New Britain Machine as a Tool Designer, while he worked at our family-owned Victor's Family Restaurant in East Hartford and South Windsor, where he was there always ready to do whatever needed to be done. After living in South Windsor for 38 years, in 2000, they built an addition on Victor and Kim's house in East Windsor.
Along with his wife, Lorraine, he leaves his 4 children, Debra Mascone Gaudette of South Windsor, Victor Mascone Jr. of East Windsor, Lisa Mascone Bucklin and her husband Herb Bucklin of Ellington and Kim Mascone of East Windsor. He also leaves four grandchildren, Lorilynn (Gaudette) Jones and her husband Christopher Jones of South Windsor, Bruce F. Gaudette III and his wife Jennifer (Kniep) Gaudette of East Hartford. Maria (Gaudette) Garabedian and her husband Albert Garabedian of Quincy, FL, and Victoria (Gaudette) Brinius and her husband Michael Brinius of East Hartford. He was especially proud of his three great-grandchildren, Bryan and Dakota Jones of South Windsor and Madison Gaudette of East Hartford. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Donald Beauvais and his wife June of South Windsor, and many nieces and nephews. His favorite times were spent with his great-grandchildren and going to the Casino. Victor was predeceased by his brothers, Attilo and Emilo Mascone, and his sisters, Frances Privitera, Philiomena Holland and Eva Johnson. He also was predeceased by his son-in law, Bruce F. Gaudette Jr. We would like to thank our dad's "favorite" niece, Mary Mascone, for all of her help these past few months.
All are welcome to join the family for calling hours at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road in South Windsor, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road in South Windsor, on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Military Honors to follow at the church. My condolences to the Mascone family for the loss of Mr. Mascone. We lived a few houses away for many years. Victor and his wife Lorraine were great friends to my parents Lou Ann and Roy Leathers. I'll always remember Mr. Mascone as the happy and always smiling man that he was when I was growing up on Northview drive. Rest in Peace.
