JOHNSON CITY - William C. "Bill" Holtzsclaw of Johnson City passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late Cline H. Holtzsclaw and Lena Holtzsclaw.
Bill graduated from Science Hill High School in 1957 and attended ETSU. He spent six years in the Marine Reserves. He was very active in the Johnson City Jaycees. Bill started his working career at ET&WNC Trucking Co. as interline manager. He was also credit manager at Paty Lumber Co. in Elizabethton and Johnson City, before joining his wife to operate her business and after retiring went to Ingles to work part time.
He loved working outdoors and spending time with his many pets and family. Bill attended Liberty Fellowship Church where he enjoyed his church family.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and several aunts & uncles.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-two years Judith R. Holtzsclaw; daughter, Susan Johnson, and her husband Richard; son, David Holtzsclaw, and his wife Karen; sister, Cheryl Buck, and her husband Dan; granddaughter, Chelsea Seguin, and her husband Eric; great grandchildren, Liliana Ackermann and Robert Seguin; several nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Liberty Fellowship Church, 1011 E. Holston Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601. A special Thank You for visiting Angels Sharon and Scarlet.
An entombment service for William C. "Bill" Holtzsclaw will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 10:30 am in the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 10:15 am Wednesday.
